This chapel was built in 1664 in honor of the patron saint Irmgard von Süchteln. The place of the chapel is called Heiligenberg. If you go south behind the chapel, you get to the Irmgardis fountain. The fountain only got a small, forged gate in 1948, which is provided with the three symbols of cross, heart and anchor. These signs represent the three divine virtues of faith, love and hope.

Every year in the first full week of September, the Irmgardisoktav is held here in honor of the saint. The chapel was built on the place where, according to the stories, Saint Irmgardis lived in a hermitage

The Irmgardis Chapel, the landmark of Süchteln, is located on the Süchteln Heights. This chapel was founded in 1664 in honor of Saint Irmgardis, who, according to tradition, lived for a long time as a hermit on the Süchteln Heights.
This is also where the approximately 11 km long footpath and cycle path to the Helenenquelle in Helenabrunn begins, which, according to tradition, Saint Irmgardis walked.
