              The Süchtelner Höhen are the highest elevations in the Viersen district at 90.70 m. They belong to the Viersen district of Süchteln.

              The Irmgardiskapelle, the landmark of Süchteln, is located on the Süchtelner Höhe. This chapel was founded in 1664 in honor of Saint Irmgardis, who, according to tradition, lived for a long time as a hermit on the Süchtelner Heights. One of the three Viersen hospitals and the Süchteln retirement home, the Irmgardisstift, are named after St. Irmgardis. In 1907, an elevated earthen tank was built on the Süchtelner Höhe as a water storage tank, which was in operation until 1969. The property has been under monument protection since 2002 with list number 439.[1]

              The Süchtelner Höhen offers many opportunities to do sports or spend your free time. There is a very large beer garden, with the “Volksbank Arena” (former “Waldkampfbahn”), a public artificial turf field, a grass field, a skate track, a BMX cross track and a mini golf course. The Süchtelner Höhen are also suitable for mountain biking, horse riding and hiking. One of the oldest leisure attractions in the Süchtelner Höhen is the game reserve, which used to be known nationally.
