The Lüneburg water tower offers a magnificent view of the city and the surrounding area, guided tours by trained schoolchildren, a walk-in monument, information about water, changing exhibitions, music, cabaret and full moon nights, a "registry office" over the roofs of Lüneburg and a special ambience for a conference or celebration.

The water tower is an impressive building from the Wilhelminian era. You can go upstairs via a spiral staircase or in the elevator. Above you will be rewarded on the platform with a very good view. He is the only tower in Lüneburg where you can stand up in public.
When I looked at the pictures in this highlight, I noticed that there is a lot of things nearby and also a bit far away. You can see the town hall on the market square, the old crane on the stint and old harbor, the cathedral to Bardowick (also a worthwhile destination) and beautiful pictures of the Ilmenau.
A beautiful hiking and cycling area is the nature reserve Ilmenauaue. It starts at Wilsche break and ends at the Red Lock.

The Lüneburg Water Tower was built between 1905 and 1907 in the southeast of Lüneburg's Old Town. The former water tower now serves as a lookout tower. Today, the building stands between a residential complex on the site of the former Nordlandhalle and the old Johanneum serving as a secondary school. Wikipedia

The water tower, completed in 1907 by the Lüneburg architect Franz Krüger, was supposed to better supply the higher parts of the city with water. The necessary de-icing and filtering of the iron-containing spring water was finally made possible by modern technology. In any case, you should not miss the wonderful view from the viewing platform over the city and the countryside.lueneburg.info/wasserturm-lueneburg
