Fernstein Castle

The castle Fernstein is located directly on the Via Claudia Augusta and also the Albrecht route leads past here. The area is a popular excursion destination and motorists stressed out by the Fernpass are happy to rest here. You are much better off as a biker, as you have just finished the Fernpass Trail at the foot of the castle. Take the time to breathe deeply and take a look around the 13th century castle. Maybe you fill up your empty storage even on the sun terrace of the Hotel Schloss Fernsteinsee - but beware: you will not have the great view of the Fernsteinsee for you alone ...

Nice castle in a great location. The cake pieces in the restaurant are huge.
