Prof. Preising had a special interest in planning and implementation of renaturation of heath and moor areas, among other things, for the recultivation of the red areas in the Lüneburg Heath Nature Reserve, areas that had been used for military purposes since the 1930s.
Ernst Preising (born September 25, 1911 in Osterode am Harz, † August 12, 2007 in Bispingen) was a German plant sociologist and conservationist in Lower Saxony.
