Pleasant town at the confluence of the two rivers Doubs and Saône, with a lively farmers market on the central square on Thursdays. The canal Du Rhône au Rhin, which follows the Doubs from the Rhine river, already leaves the Doubs a long way earlier and joins the larger Saône some 40 km upstream from here. Likewise, from Saint-Jean-de-Losne to the South the trail follows the canal along the much wider stream of the Saône. The EuroVelo 6 route crosses much larger bridges when weaving between the left and right banks from here on south.
