Most of this candelabra spruce was destroyed in a 2005 storm. The single or multiple division of the stem is called in Zwiesel botany. It is often caused by bud damage in connection with wild feeding, the trees are often susceptible to rotting or frost blasting of accumulated water pockets.

Unfortunately, it is only the pictures in the showcase at the ruins of the former miracle tree that tell of the outstanding size and beauty of this natural monument.
Today the size of the spruce can only be measured by the sheer extent of the trunk circumference.
