Hiking
The 1,300 meter high summit of the Mittagstein near Hirschwang is not particularly high next to the Schneeberg and the Rax, but it is still considered an insider's tip. Climbing over the Feichtaberg from the Naturfreundehaus Knofeleben is the easiest route to the Mittagstein.
The Jägersteig is an exciting alternative to reach the summit. Light green dots, cairns and arrows carved into the trees facilitate orientation on the otherwise unmarked path.

The Mittagstein can only be reached on a slightly marked trail from Hirschwang.
With only 1300 m altitude, it is actually insignificant between Scheeberg and Rax.
However, it offers a very nice view of the valley and the opposite Rax. Up to the summit you have to overcome 800 meters of altitude on a narrow and steep path.
The trail is not really marked, it is not cared for by any alpine club and also not advertised, so it is not so often committed.
