There used to be five mills along the stream of the Anna Valley. Now you can still see the hammer mill, which is around 800 years old. In 2007, the Anna river was moved a few meters so that the mill wheel no longer receives water. The owner of the mill and some residents of the Strausberg suburb are trying to preserve it.

The hammer mill is located in Strausberg-Vorstadt in the Annatal.
It can be reached from Ernst-Thälmann-Straße via Schlagmühlenstraße or by walking along the Annafließ from the Schwanenteich.
In 2007 the Annafließ was moved a few meters further east in the area of the hammer mill, so that no more water flows to the mill wheel.
The hammer mill is older than the city of Strausberg. Its name has changed several times. It received its current name at the end of the 18th century. Since it was not far from the mill, between it and the Herrensee was the municipal customs office (blow for turnpike), it has since been called a blow mill.

The mill no longer exists and the water wheel is not running, but beautiful hiking trails are worth a trip to the Annatal.
