The Katharinenkirche, also the Museum Church of St. Katharinen zu Lübeck, is the church of the former Franciscan monastery and the only surviving monastery church in Lübeck. She has the patronage of St. Catherine of Alexandria.

The Katharinenkirche is the church of a former Franciscan monastery, built from around 1300 to around 1370. Significant mendicant gothic church. West facade with terracotta figures by Ernst Barlach (1930-33) and Gerhard Marcks (1947/48).

Hiking

The Katharinenkirche and the adjoining monastery are from the Middle Ages. The facade of the church appears unspectacular at first. On closer inspection, however, many filigree details can be discovered. For me, the figures created by Ernst Barlach on the west facade are a hit!
