The entire course of the Seltenbach, which rises south of the sports grounds near Ergenzingen, is around 9 kilometers long and has an altitude difference of around 110 meters. The approximately six kilometer long cut valley course of the Seltenbach between the Liebfrauenhöhe monastery near Ergenzingen and Obernau is called Rommelstal, after a surveyor Rommel from the Württemberg land survey in the 19th century.
