If you go through Berlingen it goes on a comfortable paved road towards "Altem Voß" the summit on which the so-called exemption book probably hundreds of years.
A little way you go up along the edge of the field, the last few meters to the beech go up steeply. Here, steps were made with the help of wooden slats, the rest are the gnarled roots that push out of the ground.
It is always worth stopping to look back and enjoy the beautiful view.
If one stands then in front of the book it is simply enormous! It is huge but somehow gracious, wise, protective. A wonderful place especially if you, like Susi and me, have the luck to arrive alone up there. There are benches to linger, here you can recharge your batteries for the further project, even for life.
It goes then around the old beech around a partly rocky, gnarled path back down. A really great highlight and I can only recommend the way further Hohenfels-Essingen, from which one can then find three caves in the forest.

The Liberation Beech is 300 years old and is listed next to the mill in the Berlingen coat of arms. The mill was operated on the Berlinger Bach until 1963

This tree is just awesome. Above all, it literally protrudes far beyond the Alte Voss and can therefore be seen very well from a distance. An absolute highlight of the tour.
