The oldest information about the existence of a church in Glaubitz near Riesa dates back to 1319. Today's church was built after the Reformation between 1586 and 1589. The tower was added in 1741. In 1893 the church room got a stone altar with a wooden top. Unfortunately, you can only get in outside of church services if you pick up a key in the neighborhood.

The tower, nave and chancel have been completely renovated since the 1990s. The history of the village church is closely linked to the Glaubitz manor, at times the church served as the landowner's burial place.

In the north of the village begins the plain where in 1730 Elector August I held the "Zeithainer Lustlager", where all kinds of amusements occurred, 30,000 men drilled and the expense amounted to one million thalers.
