Many high-heeled tourists do not come down here, and so it's basically the better bastion view. The bastion can then be left out during the day and circulated on the Rahmhanke.
It is especially nice on the view at night: the ferry leaves until after 1 clock (inquire! - season dependent), you walked up in less than 30min and has a great view of Rathen. In the rock niche with a bench you can cuddle up to your loved ones and roast your dinner on the gas stove, or make a mulled wine.
At night you can still walk the few steps to the Bastei Bridge, then there is none ... best in fog, then it drives the swaths spectacular under and over the bridge.

At Kanapee, a rocky outcrop overlooking the valley to the south of the castle with a good view of the Elbe Valley and Bastei, there was another post office in the Felsenburg.
At the Tiedgeaussicht / -stein is the entrance to the Rahmhanke. Inscription on the rock: TO REMEMBER TIEDGE, the singer of Urania. More info here:

Otherwise, a magnificent viewpoint overlooking the Elbe, to Rathen, on the King stone ....

Beautiful view! Who wants to admire the bridge in the whole, should pay the 2 Euro entrance to come to the Basteigelände. From there you can photograph the bridge super. Unfortunately on the holiday too many people there, preferably visit during the week.

As far as I know, the observation deck on the bastion is still closed.
But it doesn't matter, as there are plenty of viewpoints away from them, some of which can only be reached with a lot of daring. However, it is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to leave the path!
