Work I - the Upper Danube Bastion.
Today, the building houses, among other things, the central museum of the Danube Swabians. In front of the museum section stands an "Ulm box." These disposable messengers were used by people to emigrate from Ulm to countries downstream on the Danube over 200 years ago.

The bastion was part of the federal fortress Ulm (Plant 1) from the 19th century.
Today it houses the Danube Swabian Central Museum
and in front of it the "Ulma", a replica of an "Ulmer Schachtel"

The Wein-Bastion Ulm, a recommendable wine and spirits shop with a great ambience, is now located in a part of the former federal fortress.
