Simply a great ascent over the Himmelsleiter to the 1,373 meter high Lusen, the fifth largest mountain in the Bavarian Forest. Sturdy shoes are highly recommended here! In addition, the sea of blocks up here is simply impressive and absolutely worth seeing. The many flat stones in the summit area are green moss in places and look almost surreal - like a stony sea. It's not just great fun for children to climb around and admire the great natural spectacle.

"Himmelsleiter or Himmelsstiege" is a fitting name for this impressive route up the Lusen. For me, the entire route from the Martinsklause via the Teufelsloch and the glass ark to the summit is a "natural highlight". Impressive details in nature and magnificent views. The way to the Lusen should be done this way.

Somewhat challenging in the winter and dangerous but still a highlight no matter whether up or down to Lusen ;-)
