wiki says:The mill was built in 1823 by the miller Benjamin Schmitz from Vennikel. As a mill, it was still in use until the 1930s and then stood idle for some time. With money from the city of Krefeld, the mill was restored but operated only a short time until 1941 again. During the Second World War, the vicinity of the mill was hit several times during air raids by the Allies and the building was badly damaged. The wing was completely destroyed and renewed in 1969 and another time in 1982. Although the mill is in working order today, it is not run but is used as a clubhouse by a nearby golf club and houses a restaurant.
