"The small-scale temple made of shell limestone was built by the city in 1913 in memory of the silk baron Wilhelm Deuß. He had left the surrounding area and 20,000 marks in 1897 to the city with the condition that it be used as a recreation area for the Krefeld.
In 1907 he gave another 50,000 marks to expand the city forest. The Deuss Temple was restored in 2008 with funds from the Krefeld Monument Foundation. "
