In Baiersbronn, a small 20-meter ski jump was built on the small hill in 1908. Jumps of up to 30 meters were possible. The large Ruhestein ski jump was built in 1923 and was inaugurated a year later. The ski jump was rebuilt several times before the 1933 championships. For the German Championships it was expanded to a 50-meter hill. Heini Klopfer played a key role in the renovation work for the Nordic Championships in 1953. To create the new Ruhestein ski jump, 2,500 cubic meters of rock were blasted and around 5,000 m³ of earth was moved around the facilities.[1] Ten years later the ski jump was changed again for the 1964 Nordic Championships. After modernization in 1983, the architect Ulrich Klumpp designed the ski jumps K85, K60, K43 and K17 in 1994/95, which still exist today. A snowmaking system was added in 2002.

Some competitions in the Nordic Combined B World Cup have been held on the large ski jump HS90 since 1996, as well as the Women's Continental Cup since 2005.

    Large Ruhestein ski jump:
    Inrun length 78 m
    Incline of inrun 35°
    Starting speed 88.2 km/h
    construction point 85 m; Hillsize 90 m
    Height difference table edge/K-point 40.39 m
    Length difference table edge/K-point 74.11 m

Jump at the Ruhestein. It is forbidden to enter, but from the top of the barrier you still have a great view of the slope.
