The Grinden landscape with the eponymous Grinde, a tree-free wet heath on the sandstone ridges in the northern Black Forest, is a unique biotope and particularly beautiful to look at. What appears to be a barren landscape at first glance has its own special charm, which I found remarkable on the Hornisgrinde last year.
