With the Elbe ferry Bleckede you can get quickly and cheaply across the Elbe (person € 1.00, bicycle € 0.50). All other Elbe ferries known to me (these are all ferries between Lauenburg and Wittenberge) are significantly more expensive (the ferry at Hitzacker costs the most: € 1.50 per person and € 1.30 per bike). The employees on the Elbe ferry Bleckede are always very nice when I e.g. Once I took the ferry from Bleckede to Neu Bleckede and had to go back to Bleckede shortly afterwards (to buy repair kit), the ferryman took me along free of charge (on the grounds that I was already unlucky enough today). I like to use this ferry again and again.

On April 6th, 2019 we actually wanted to cross the Elbe with the ferry and cycle along the southern bank of the Elbe back to Lauenburg. According to the information on the Internet, the Bleckede ferry should be operational. When we got there, the ferry was on the other side and there were already a few cyclists, cars and motorcyclists waiting on our side. Unfortunately, nothing moved. A small sign hung on the barrier: "Ferry out of service" but unfortunately no further information from/to.... After extensive cell phone research and telephone calls from several people on site, it turned out that the ferry was not running.
