Location + history: The Glemsweiher is located in the Rotwildpark Stuttgart not far from the Glemsbrunnen.
The Glemsweiher in the red deer park is an important spawning water for toads. Numerous amphibians spawn at this pool. There are hundreds of common toads. The Glemsweiher is essential for their reproduction and for the preservation of their species. The city confirms this in a written statement. "From the point of view of the garden, cemetery and forestry office, the Glemsweiher is a very important spawning water."
The draining of the water is necessary at regular intervals in the artificially created body of water, for example if too much sludge accumulates or the reservoirs have to be serviced or repaired.

Even if you are on the Glemsweiherweg, you can easily overlook the pond, because in summer it is completely overgrown from the path. A small path leads to the west side, from which one has a view of the water. There is also a bench there.
