Cycling

The Seven Devils Tower is the last remnant of the city fortifications that were demolished in the 18th and 19th centuries. The round brick building with a pointed arch frieze and loopholes was built in 1502 and, together with the small section of the city wall directly adjacent to it, is the last remnant of the medieval city fortifications. This consisted of the old city moat that surrounded Haltern and is still remembered today by the small pond next to the tower, as well as six other towers.

Since 1997, the tower has been impressively illuminated after dusk.
