Worth seeing! The Leuchtenburg lies high above the Saale valley. It grants a wide all-round view from the Harz to the Thuringian Forest. Within its castle walls it houses a museum on the subject of Thuringian porcelain and its 800-year history. The porcelain town of Kahla, which lies at the foot of the castle, impresses with its historic city center.

Nice hiking trails to the Leuchtenburg, around the Leuchtenburg there is a panorama path which I can highly recommend. You can also go into the castle itself, there is also an exhibition of Kahla porcelain and there is also a restaurant. The view from the Leuchtenburg is terrific.

The art of the architecture particularly appealed to us here, the new extensions, which were designed in a very modern way, to connect them with the old historical walls in which the permanent exhibition “Porcelain Worlds in Leuchtenburg” is located. Bridges connect the exhibition areas in the old and new building.
