Narrow section in the Vouraikos Gorge. According to legend, Hercules used his sword to split a rock that blocked the passage to reach his beloved Voura's daughter Eliki, hence the name.
The Vouraikos Gorge starts 1.6 miles (3 km) north of the village of Kato Zachlorou at an altitude of 2,390 feet (730 metres) and continues parallel to the river, traveling 12 miles (20 km) to reach the village of Diakopto (Municipality of Egialia), a journey of one hour.
Torrential waterfalls, caves with stalactites and stalagmites, the rich alternating vegetation of plane trees, firs, olives and oleanders make the unique beauty of this landscape.
