Unlike me, my trusted navigator apparently doesn't like this ring. I couldn't save the tour from two different sources. So, just import at my starting point and off we go.

After going through this rock cut right at the beginning of the hike, one could have assumed it would be an alpine hike.
But it wasn't, instead it went through a very beautiful forest and there were always wonderful views of the Sauerland. And there was a bit of "scrambling" too.

In the end, I couldn't resist taking a look at this old and, for more reasons than one, impressive structure. Not by bike along the Moselle, but as a stopover (with a hike 😃).
It dates from the 2nd century, and this visible part over the Moselle valley is more than 1100 meters long.
