A dead tree welcomes the runners and walkers. It was the mighty and famous sky spirit chestnut.

In 2006 tree lovers, the so-called "sky spirits tree spirits", saved the almost 200-year-old and sick chestnut from the ax and cared for it. As the second tree in Germany, she received a mailbox with a postal address. Postman Dönder Ekrem delivered up to 5,500 letters to the tree each year.

The tree has even received mail from Angela Merkel, Buckingham Palace, Udo Lindenberg and other personalities. The show with the mouse made a report about the famous tree on July 1st, broadcast in episode 27/2015.

When it became clear that the old chestnut could no longer be saved, the "Heaven Spirits Tree Spirits" planted a new chestnut. The small tree is thriving not far from the old tree and has taken over the mailbox of its predecessor.

In 2015 the old chestnut "died" and was brought back to life in December of the same year by artists. Wood sculptor Jörg Bäßler gave the tree a face with his chainsaw.
