The Menzenberg area is made up of the Menzenberg, Zickelburg and Hagerhof residential areas. Three wineries were on the slopes of the valley. The Menzenberg was also a supplier of natural stone. The advancing industrialization, the large phylloxera infestation in 1874 and the development of Honnef into a spa town sealed the end of the viticulture era on Menzenberg as well. The slopes all around, all of them former vineyards, are now wooded and bushy. (Source: Bad Honnef History Trail)
