The Palace Park of Orange was designed in the 1650s according to the wishes of the castle's mistress Louise Henriette of Orange. The Dutch noblewoman was the first wife of the Great Elector Frederick William. During a hunting trip, the surrounding landscape reminded her of her homeland and her husband gave her the lands as a gift.

As was common at the time, the large garden was primarily used to grow fruit and vegetables. It was only over time that the large palace park was converted into a pure pleasure garden. Today, large parts of the garden have been restored according to the original plans.

The palace garden can be visited independently of the palace. You can find the current opening times here: oranienburg.de/Rathaus-Service/Bürgerinformationen/Leichte-Sprache/sichtigen/index.php?La=1&object=tx,2967.527.1&kat=&kuo=2&sub=0
