The hammer was not built until the 15th century.

Field names such as "in der Gruben", "Grubenschlag", "Erzweg" indicate that attempts were made in Theuern to cover the ore needs themselves.

In the 16th century: upswing under the Regensburg patrician family Portner (also lords of Wolfsbach and Leidersdorf)

Despite large forest holdings, the hammer came into economic difficulties in 1612 due to a lack of charcoal.

Before the Thirty Years' War, the hammer worked at a loss.

In 1632 it was destroyed by war.

The hammer appears several times in documents of the 17th century as "not practicable".

In 1727 there was a heyday: ore from our own surroundings, Amberg and Krumbach are processed.

The hammer makes big profits

=> 1770: Renewal of the stately home

=> 1781: Elaborate castle construction

1801: economic difficulties again (due to lack of charcoal)

1863: Hammer is still in operation

1864: Operation ceased due to obsolescence
