Meiswinkel was first mentioned in 1423. In 1925, the GemeMeiswinkel as an agricultural and workers' community consisted of 195 inhabitants (2016 = 621 inhabitants), all of whom were Protestants. Meiswinkel belonged to the Freudenberg district and was incorporated on January 1, 1969 into the city of Hüttental, newly founded in 1966, which was incorporated into the city of Siegen on January 1, 1975.
