Mountain biking

The cellar lane from Marktleuthen to Hohenbuch with its historic rock cellars is listed as particularly valuable in the Fichtelgebirge nature park and is now a winter quarters for pug and northern bats. Felsenkeller had for the storage of food e.g. Potatoes, of great importance. They are mostly abandoned, partly dilapidated monuments of our agricultural landscape. The rock cellars in the ravines are important ecological structural elements of nature conservation, but also symbols of the building tradition and stonemasonry of the Fichtelgebirge. In addition, as artificially created caves, they bear witness to the geological conditions in the rocky landscape. Rock cellars were of great importance for storing food, such as potatoes. They are mostly abandoned, partly dilapidated monuments of the agricultural landscape. Barely used cellars are habitats for animals (winter quarters of bats) and are often described as small biotopes in near-natural surroundings throughout Bavaria.
