A beautiful hiking and mountain bike destination, with a beautiful view. The nearby Wackelstein is only a few hundred meters away. The ruin Hirschstein also offers a nice challenge for climbers. The ascent on the rock is provided with mounted climbing eyelets to secure.

Ruin Hirschstein 1205 - 1412 Border festivals of the Bavarian Nordgau and seat of the knights of Hirschberg.

The rock and the ruin are listed buildings. If you bikest or wander on the Franconian mountain path you will come over here.

Quotation Fichtelgebirgsverein: spare the witnesses of old times!

Then a wonderfully blocked trail, can be easily drive with appropriate concentration and body tension.

On the north route between the station Kirchenlamitz-Ost and the Kornberg summit lies the ruins of the rock castle Hirschstein (744 m above sea level). It was the site of a former castle, but of which only a few sparse remains can be seen.

The Hirschstein Castle, which was originally one of the oldest in the Fichtelgebirge, is said to have belonged to Hirzberg "zen Herschenstein" already in 1206 Rüdiger and Utzo. The castle was destroyed in the middle of the 14th century and never rebuilt.
