During our tour in early June, the upper third was still covered under a thick layer of snow.
The path was virtually non-existent and some trail markers were not visible due to the layer of snow. Orientation was therefore almost impossible, especially going downhill.
In general, I would advise only walking up the Kleine Griesener Kar at any time of the year and going down via the Große. The small one is significantly steeper than the big one and the descent is really very difficult
