    Functionally restored tower Dutch windmill

This mill was built as a tower hollander with gallery and compass rose.

In 1861 the windmill was built by Karl-Dietrich Gräper. It is a "Dutch windmill". After a few years, the "Göpel" was replaced by wind power. Since the wind power was often insufficient, a benzene engine with water cooling was installed in 1923. When the power supply was expanded in 1934, an additional shot gear with an electric motor was installed. Since there was no other space, the oil mill had to be dismantled. Except for the oil mill, all the facilities are still there. The windmill has not been in operation since 1963. From 1994 to 1998 extensive renovation measures were carried out at the mill. As a result, the mill is fully functional again today.

What is special is that the Hoyersförde windmill (Gräpersche mill from 1863) stands freely in the area and can therefore be seen from four passable paths (i.e. from all four cardinal points). A dirt road in between leads directly to the mill, where mill days are held regularly. Then there is really something going on at the mill.
