The Laugavegur is a famous trek in Iceland.
I only did it from Þórsmörk to Landmannalaugar but you can easily find gpx tracks on the web.
I would recommend you to do it with Landmannalaugar as destination so you walk oposite from most of the people and you end up with the pleasure to jump into the hot river in Landmannalaugar. Once there you can also enjoy the landscape by doing smaller tour before to take the bus.
