In 2014, the Steglitz city park with its hundred-year history received particular attention. The approximately 17 hectare site was once a swampy lowland with old trees, which was transformed into a landscape park by garden director Fritz Zahn and horticultural inspector Rudolf Korte. The Steglitz city park has been classified as a garden monument since 1995.
