The path to the vase is a bit adventurous. You have to walk (or jump if necessary) over a swampy stream bed. Originally there were two vases that Duke Johann Albrecht had placed on the meadow. Only one vase and the base of the second vase remain. According to an anecdote, the vases came from France to Mecklenburg as spoils of war.
