Very beautiful castle on Schwerin's outer lake. Lots of art in and around the castle. Beautiful riverside path, newly created. A really great rest area.

The castle is located on the steep bank of Lake Schwerin and has an interesting history.
The manor house has a number of outbuildings and a large park.
Today the State Office for Culture and Monument Preservation Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, State Archeology Department is located in the castle and the art association Wiligrad e.V. has also rented some parts of the castle.
You can have a look at the rooms that the Kunstverein has rented and get a small impression of what the castle used to look like.

Castle and castle park with numerous art objects. In 2015, the replica of the Braunschweig lion was unveiled in front of the palace. The original of the bronze sculpture disappeared in 1950 under mysterious circumstances.
