Obmettmann: "From the Middle Ages, the Honschaft belonged to the Amt Mettmann and came to the Amt Solingen in the 18th century and under the administration of the sovereignty (later Amt) Schöller. In the course of an administrative reform within the Grand Duchy of Berg, the Mayor's Office Mettmann and the Honschaft were formed in 1808 with Mettmann. The mayor's office of Mettmann formed a municipality in accordance with the municipal order for the Rhine province of July 23, 1845 and since 1856 a city in accordance with the Rhenish city order.
