Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)
The Bismarck Tower on the Peterskopf is 30 meters high. It was built from 1901 to 1903. In 1925, the concrete ceiling of the second viewing platform collapsed while a school class was on the tower. It was renovated from 1992 to 1998.
Access to the tower's observation deck is possible during the opening hours of the kiosk (Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.).

The monument dedicated to Chancellor Otto von Bismarck was planned by the Drachenfels Club from 1896 and erected after an architectural competition in 1901 from February 1902 to mid-1903 based on a design by the Karlsruhe architect Friedrich Kunst. The inauguration was celebrated on July 5, 1903.
On May 27, 1925, the concrete floor of the second viewing platform collapsed while a school class from Frankenthal was about to climb the tower. Several children were injured and one died. In 1928 the relief, which had been destroyed by French occupation troops after the First World War, was renewed. During the Second World War, two bombs hit the tower and caused severe damage.
The first renovation by the Drachenfels Club took place in 1949. In 1973/1974 further renovation measures were carried out; At the same time, accommodation for the tower keeper was built. The tower was placed under monument protection in 1986 as "shaping the landscape".

Historically everything has already been said.
My verdict as a MTB enthusiast is as follows.
Straight ahead from the steps, i.e. at the front, it goes a little through the bushes down to the barrier.
A DH trail that is known in the scene, the upper 1st part is stony and technically demanding.
The short 2nd part has 5 jumps, radio factor 10.
The remaining sections are super flowy and can be taken with speed and small jumps.
In the last part there is a mega jump for the brave, but be careful ⚠ .... too much speed, wrong technique = AUA !!!
Because e is so beautiful "repeat" 🤟
Hikers should avoid the trail, there is a deer crossing 😜🤪😛😝
