At the well of the Luisenplatz some ducks with their main residence Park Sanssouci casually enjoy the balmy Potsdam summer evenings. The Luisenplatz was built together with the (no longer existing) city wall around 1733 and learned over the centuries various redesigns. Various events take place throughout the year, from the Christmas market (which runs through the entire adjoining Brandenburger Straße) to the public viewing, such as the European Championship 2016.
