The story is not on the cross. So let me tell you briefly: the Hanselesbauer shot himself at this point or nearby. This cross reminds of him. He is said to have been the largest forest owner in the Wolfach district (today part of the Offenburg district). He liked to go to the casino in Baden-Baden, where he probably lost too much of his forest property. It was in the forest where it ended.
