Among the numerous formerly existing shafts, the Joseph main art and drive shaft from 1824 occupies a special position. In its machine room located on the Adam tunnel floor, it houses two Brendel water column machines from the years 1833 and 1864. They are the only two that are now normally accessible again and were present in the former Saxon silver ore mines.
