The cherry is a little hidden between the other houses in the old town center, so that the outside view is only possible in fragments and it is a bit more difficult to get an overall impression. A little mix of styles inside.

Duke Wilhelm von Jülich and his wife Maria von Geldern donated an altar in honor of the Virgin Mary of St. George and Erasmus. This foundation was not voluntary, it was a requirement of Pope Urban V for the couple to avoid excommunication. Wilhelm and Maria were related in the 4th degree and had married, which was not allowed in the Church, so the Pope gave them this penance.

The altar was in a chapel in the middle of the village. Kaster did not have its own church, so it was subordinate to the church in Lipp. In 1542 the chapel was destroyed during the Guerrilla War, after which a new parish church was built on the foundations of the old chapel. Now the church was dedicated to St. Dedicated to George. At that time, the citizens of Kaster raised over 1,000 thalers to finance the construction of the new church. Duke Wilhelm von Jülich donated a glass window with his portrait and the year 1553.

After the great fire in the city of 1624, the church was only provisionally repaired. The church had become so dilapidated that it was rebuilt and completed in 1785. In addition to the main altar, the church has several other altars.

The main altar from 1785 has a wooden structure with four columns. On both sides there is a decorated reliquary cabinet from the years 1750/60. The altar of Mary is to the left of the main altar and the altar of Rochus to the right. The pulpit, a hexagonal basket, dates from around 1785.

The church was restored again in 1951 and 1978. During the last restoration, a crypt with skeletons was found below the foundations of the previous church. This church has four bells, two from 1631, one from 1955 and a "weather bell" cast in 1732.
