    The MTB route from Altaussee to Bad Ischl through the Rettenbachtal is closed until further notice (possibly until next year). The ascent to the Blaa Alm is possible, the road barrier and a note are only at the top when entering the gorge. If you are unsure whether the route is passable, you can call the Bad Ischl or Altaussee tourist office, because once you have reached the top, you can only turn around.

        The route is open again. The Federal Forestry Office and the Tourism Association have confirmed this, so we cycled through it in August 2025 with touring bikes and luggage.
