The former whaling port is still a fishing port and starting point of the ferry line to Sylt. The Syltfähre is from Havenby to List about 40 minutes on the way and operates all year round.

Is correct! The fish is really delicious here. The ferry to List / Sylt also goes from here. A very recommendable alternative to the car train from Niebüll. When you take the ferry - the Sylt Express - across, Sylt feels like a different world. Both islands are really very beautiful - but not at all comparable. It starts with the tourist tax and the dog beaches in Sylt.
