It's a really great castle, especially the one in excellent condition, especially from the inside.
Admission only with a guide, German-speaking. This costs 8 euros per person. P. and takes place at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. We really enjoyed it, even though I'm not particularly interested in history.

Super nice castle and especially well preserved. Admission only with a guide, this costs 8 euros per person and takes place at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. I can only recommend it. Nice young lady who tells the story really exciting and humorous.

Mighty mountains surround the Sand in Taufers valley basin and yet Taufers Castle forms an impressive backdrop. Its construction history clearly shows that it was an important dynast's castle of the Middle Ages.

Taufers Castle was built at the beginning of the 13th century on a rocky outcrop that separates the Tauferer and Ahrntal valleys. The main castle against the mountain of Ahornach in the north (attack side) consists of a keep and an attached residential tower, another palace (later a granary) is located in a sheltered location in the west. The building site, which is dictated by the natural terrain, is bordered by a surrounding wall, against which various residential buildings, mostly built in the early 16th century, lean. The fortifications around the gate tower (15th century) are of castle historical importance.

Of the interior decoration, the most notable are the Gothic frescoes of the chapel with a rare deesis and the many wood-paneled and comfortably furnished rooms. In the 19th and 20th centuries
