In 1965 filming for the Francis Durbridge TV series "Melissa" (broadcast by a street sweeper in January 1966) was carried out in Blankenberg and Hennef. In Hennef, the film was shot at the Bäumer jewelry store, which is still located across the street in Bahnhofstrasse. Some scenes, it is said, that were thought to be "in the can", had to be repeated because suddenly and unexpectedly the Bröltalbahn passed the shop, puffing and tinkling loudly, disturbing the actors considerably during the shooting.
