    Dams-trail
The approximately 24-kilometer circular trail leads through changing meadows and forest landscapes and stream valleys, past small villages. On mostly natural paths, the hiker enjoys undisturbed views over the Wahnbachtalsperre in many places. However, the designated path must not be left.
During the hike several ascents and descents are to be mastered, the entire route can only be created by experienced hikers. Smaller sections are also suitable for walks. Due to the path portion of the path can be very slippery in humid weather. Telescopic poles can be helpful here.
The circular route is well signposted. Additional information boards along the route inform about the dam, fauna and flora.

The Wahnbach Dam was built between 1955 and 1958.
The 379 meter long, 7.5 meter wide and 52.5 meter high dam in the crown consists of a dam made of around one million cubic meters of Grauwacke, covered with a thick asphalt concrete seal.

A beautiful view over one of the large water reservoirs of the area. The information boards on the other side of the dam are also very interesting.

The new information center directly at the reservoir is really interesting, especially if you come from the area!

There is a lot to see around the Wahnbachtalsperre. Here you can see the dam depending on the vegetation.

The trail below the dam is currently z. not recommendable. Too many fallen trees and very slippery leaves (see my photo from today)
